The New Standard for Freshwater Biodiversity Data Collection

Our Vision

The Future of the BioBox

Innovative

Unlike the industry standard of infrequent (typically yearly) data collection, the Biobox excels by offering daily data collection and analysis capabilities. In our continuous effort to enhance our product, we are committed to collaborating closely with researchers and field experts to integrate new technologies, such as automatic eDNA collection, into future versions of the Biobox.

Affordable

Priced at £200 per unit for lifetime use, the BioBox surpasses all competitors in terms of affordability. To further drive down costs, we will capitalise on economies of scale by procuring components in bulk. We will also deploy Bioboxes in vital locations to ensure widespread access to collected data. This cost-effective approach increases the accessibility of valuable environmental information.

Open Source

We believe that saving the environment is a collective effort: without collaboration with other parties, we cannot realise the true potential of the biobox. We are therefore committed to keeping all schematics and software of the Biobox open source, as well as sharing all developments along the way on our social media.

Scalable

Despite being small physically, the BioBox's modular nature allows for its functionality to be extended as required. We plan to implement a user-friendly mechanism to allow users to design their own plugins and install them to their BioBox with ease. This allows the BioBox to tailor perfectly to every user's needs.
